Landis Salons’ New Artist Program is an in depth training program that will enrich your knowledge & advance you as a stylist in an unprecedented fashion. Our in house & world class Aveda Education is unsurpassed in Salt Lake City. We provide these classes to ensure that all of our stylists are current & up to date with all of the current trends. With our training you will learn & master all aspects of customer service, technical cutting, & advanced coloring techniques.

While in the New Artist Program you will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best in this Industry. You will receive paid training & gain access to Aveda Corporates advanced training courses.

During your first month or so of employment you will be familiarizing yourself with our salon culture, shadowing & assisting under our Grand Salon staff,  attending New Artist Classes, learning & preforming Rituals of Renewal, shampoo’s, blow outs, & value added services. You will also be introduced to the Aveda Benchmark Reports, which will act as a guide to success throughout the rest of your career with Landis Salons. During the assisting phase of the New Artist program you will also need to bring in 15 guests. These guests will be models for various cuts, colors, & styles prior to being placed on the salon floor.

At Landis we focus on providing our guests with excellent customer service. While in the New Artist Program some of your in depth training will include product & business classes, 10 steps to providing a through consultation, time management, & Aveda 10.0, which is a 3 step program to help you complete Aveda’s 10 points of difference & service wheel with each & every guest.

Another way the New Artist Program will help you reach success is through our advanced color classes which are held every Monday at our sugarhouse location. During Monday classes you will go over Aveda’s service wheel, in depth color theory, basic & advanced formulations, & various color placements.  You will have a class dedicated to Systems, Solutions, Deep, Reds, Balayage Basics, & Pure Blonding. Each of these classes will teach you the steps & techniques to give your guests their desired results every time.

“We believe our actions, products, & services should always embody excellence.”  One way we believe you can embody excellence is through our Technical Cutting class that is held every Wednesday at our Marmalade location which is taught by Seth. Seth is our head cutting coach & has played a huge part into shaping the New Artist program into what it is today.

During class Seth will help you perfect & refine your cutting skill by teaching & guiding you through various technical cutting techniques. He believes that clean sectioning & body position are key elements in executing a technically correct cut.  We have classes dedicated to teach you, Men’s Scissor Over-comb, Long, Square, 90 degree, & Concave layers, medium to short bobs, & round & forward graduation.

Throughout this process you will be evaluated on your client interaction, technical ability, professionalism, appearance, time management, team interaction, overall attitude, & work performance.
