Growing up around family members who owned and operated small businesses in Moab, Utah, Shealyn Thomas has learned how to mold aspiration into reality. Her grandparents, who owned a local salon, Pete & Company, for 45 years, introduced her to the beauty industry. Their salon was a place for community, a place where people cared.
With guidance from her aunt, an accomplished colorist and stylist, Shealyn moved to California, studied and graduated from MTI College and Paul Mitchell The School. After working in Regis and Aveda salons in California, Shealyn moved back to Utah with a heightened desire for education and professional development. She is proud to use Aveda products and feels like the team at Landis Lifestyle Salons supports her professional acumen.
Shealyn’s family role models helped her discover a vibrant industry; an industry that has grown from shampoo sets and buzz cuts to the fashion-forward styles, techniques and eco-friendly products of today. And Shealyn says the salon is still a place where people matter. She enjoys making her guests feel comfortable, helping them achieve the look they want, and contributing to making the world a nicer place to live in. When it’s time to hang up her shears for the day, Shealyn loves “hangin’” with friends and family, hiking, watching movies, and being in the mountains of Utah.
